What surfers say

Trusted by families and first-timers along the South African shoreline

We do not chase numbers. Our reputation comes from small-group lessons, honest tidal briefings, and boards that are checked before every paddle.

Beginner lesson

"I had never stood on a board before. My instructor explained rip currents and wave zones on the sand first, so by the time we got in the water I actually knew what to do. The board was in great shape and the rash guard fit properly."

Junior holiday clinic

"Our son joined the holiday clinic for two mornings. The coaches kept the group small and spent real time on beach safety before each session. He came home tired, happy, and already asking when he can go again."

Board repair

"Dropped off my soft-top for a pressure ding repair before a weekend trip. It was ready the next afternoon, cleanly patched and sanded. They also checked the fin boxes and leash plug without being asked."

Women-only mornings

"A calm, supportive space to learn without pressure. The instructor adjusted the pace to the group and spent extra time on paddle technique. I left feeling stronger and more confident in the water."

Tidal safety briefing

"The pre-paddle briefing covered the exact sandbank shifts and rip zones for that day's tide. That kind of local knowledge is why I keep coming back instead of surfing alone."

Equipment hire

"Rented a soft-top and wetsuit for the week. The gear was clean, the wetsuit had no tears, and they swapped my board for a shorter one when I mentioned I had surfed before."

Common Questions

Straight Answers About Lessons, Safety, and Gear

A few things people usually ask before their first paddle or when they bring the whole family down to the beach. If your question is not here, just reach out and we will help you sort it out.

I have never surfed before. Which lesson should I book?

Start with our beginner wave riding session. It covers beach safety, reading the shore break, and basic paddling technique before you even get on the board. All equipment is included, and groups are kept small so you get enough attention from the instructor.

What should I bring for a junior surf camp day?

A rash guard or old t-shirt, board shorts, a towel, reef-safe sunscreen, and plenty of drinking water. We provide the soft-top board and a wetsuit if the water is cool. Pack a light snack for after the session, and leave valuables at home or in a dry bag.

Do you run women-only mornings for beginners?

Yes, we hold dedicated women-only sessions on select weekday mornings. They follow the same small-group format but are paced for newcomers and led by a female instructor. Check the schedule on our support page for the next available date.

Can I rent a soft-top board and just paddle out on my own?

Absolutely. Our rental boards are available by the hour or for the full day. Before you head out, we do a quick tidal safety briefing so you know the local sandbars and where the rip currents tend to form. It takes five minutes and helps you stay in the right zone.

What does a board repair involve?

We handle dings, cracks, and fin box issues on soft-top and fiberglass boards. Drop your board off before your morning paddle, and most small repairs are ready within a day or two. For bigger damage, we will give you an honest estimate and a realistic timeline before starting any work.

Is reef-safe sunscreen really necessary?

Yes, especially along the South African coastline where coral and marine life are sensitive to common chemical filters. Our kiosk stocks zinc-based formulas that hold up during a long session and do not wash off into the water. It is a small choice that keeps the reef healthy for everyone.
